Owed by Speight Solutions

Terms of service

Terms & conditions

This is a working draft (version 2026-09-12-v1-draft), written to accurately describe what Owed does today, not final solicitor-reviewed legal text. It will be revisited and formally reviewed before any launch beyond a small, invited beta. Last updated 6 October 2026.

Who we are

Owed is operated by Speight Solutions Ltd. Owed is an independent service and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or acting on behalf of Great Western Railway (GWR). Contact [email protected] with any question or complaint.

What you're agreeing to

  • Owed can act as your agent to submit and manage GWR Delay Repay claims on your behalf.
  • Compensation is paid to you by GWR directly — Owed never holds your money.
  • Owed charges a success fee only on compensation actually recovered.
  • You can disconnect your inbox and stop using Owed at any time.

Scope and limitations

Owed currently only supports Great Western Railway Delay Repay claims, for journeys found via a connected email inbox (currently Gmail only). We don't guarantee that any particular journey is eligible, that a claim will be approved, or how much compensation (if any) GWR will pay — those decisions are GWR's alone, made under their own published Delay Repay policy. You can always claim directly with GWR yourself, at no cost, instead of or alongside using Owed.

Claim authority and accuracy

By accepting these terms, you authorise Owed to act as your agent in preparing and submitting Delay Repay claims to GWR on your behalf, using journey and ticket details found in your inbox or that you provide directly. You confirm that any evidence or detail you provide is accurate and genuinely yours, and that you won't use Owed to submit a claim you've already made (or intend to make) directly with GWR or through another service for the same journey.

Fees and payment

Owed charges a success fee of 15% of compensation actually recovered on your behalf — nothing is charged if nothing is recovered. GWR pays compensation directly to you; Owed invoices its fee separately, afterwards. Fee amounts stated are not currently confirmed as VAT-inclusive or exclusive — this will be clarified before any real payment collection is built, which does not exist yet; for now, fee arrangements are handled manually.

Cancellation

You can stop using Owed and disconnect your inbox at any time, with immediate effect. If Owed has already started or completed work on a claim (for example, submitted it to GWR) before you cancel, that work doesn't undo itself — we'll tell you plainly where things stand rather than leaving it unclear.

Complaints and account closure

If something's gone wrong, contact [email protected] directly and we'll look into it. You can request account closure at any time — see our privacy notice for what happens to your data when you do.

Liability

Nothing in these terms limits your rights as a consumer under UK law that can't legally be limited. Beyond that, Owed isn't liable for GWR's own decisions about a claim, for delays or changes in GWR's process, or for compensation GWR chooses not to pay.
