How it works

From delayed train to money in your account

Three stages. You only ever do the first one — connect your inbox — then Owed handles the rest.

  1. 1

    Connect your inbox

Read-only inbox access, set up in under a minute.

    • We find GWR booking confirmations, e-tickets, and disruption emails automatically.
    • We never send, delete, or change anything in your inbox.
  2. 2

We review and file eligible claims

Every journey checked against GWR's own Delay Repay rules, precisely and every time.

    • If anything's missing (a ticket detail, evidence), we'll ask you for it.
    • We submit the claim on GWR's own portal once it's ready — no forms for you to fill in.
  3. 3

    GWR pays you directly

Compensation goes straight to your bank account. We never hold or touch it.

    • We only charge our 15% success fee afterwards, separately, and only on what's actually recovered.

Pricing

One fee. Only when it works.

Built to be trusted

Your inbox, your money, your control

Beyond what's already explained above, here's the rest of how we back that up. Read the full privacy notice.

Read-only, enforced in code

Not just a promise — the app has no code path that can send, delete, or change anything in your inbox, only read it.

Encrypted end to end

Tokens and bank details are encrypted at rest. No one at Owed can read your payout details directly.

A full, honest record

Every step we take on your claim is logged and shown to you, including anything that didn't go to plan.

Checked before it's ever sent

Every piece of evidence we gather is verified as genuine before we submit anything on your behalf, never assumed.

A 15-minute delay rarely feels worth chasing. That's exactly why most people never do.

Only 34% of passengers claim for the shortest eligible delays nationally, and every claim expires 28 days after travel. Owed checks every journey, every time, so nothing you're owed quietly expires unclaimed.

Questions

Everything you might be wondering

That's where your GWR booking confirmations, e-tickets, and disruption emails already are. We only read them, using read-only access, and nothing is ever sent, deleted, or shared.

No. Moving something to Trash or Spam is completely fine, we still check both. Only permanently deleting an email (or letting Trash empty itself, which most providers do automatically after 30 days) removes it for good. Either way, we only ever need to look back 28 days, GWR's own claim window, so this is rarely something to think about at all.

You. GWR pays your compensation directly to you. We never hold or touch your money at any point.

Then you pay nothing at all. Our 15% fee only ever applies to compensation we actually recover for you.

Yes, any time, from your account. Journeys already found stay with you; we simply stop checking for new ones.

You'll see exactly why, and we'll appeal on your behalf where it's worth it. Nothing is ever silently dropped.

Right now, yes, Great Western Railway only, so we can get every rule exactly right for that operator. More operators are on the roadmap.
